Tony Winner Anthony Crivello Joins the Cast of Broadway's Golden Boy

Tony winner Anthony Crivello and Vayu O'Donnell join the cast of the forthcoming Broadway revival of Clifford Odet’s Golden Boy. Crivello will replace previously announced star Bill Camp in the role of gambler Eddie Fuseli in Lincoln Center Theater’s 75th anniversary production of the boxing drama. Directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher, Golden Boy will also star Seth Numrich, Danny Burstein and Tony Shalhoub. The play begins performances at the Belasco Theatre on November 8 in anticipation of a December 6 opening night.

Golden Boy is the story of Joe Bonaparte (Numrich), a young, gifted violinist who is torn between pursuing a career in music and earning big money as a prize fighter. The play originally premiered on Broadway in 1937 and has only been revived once, in 1952 at the ANTA Playhouse (now the August Wilson Theatre).

Crivello won a 1993 Tony Award for his role as Valentin in Kiss of the Spider Woman. He made his Broadway debut as a Che replacement in the original production of Evita. His other Broadway credits include The News, Les Miserables and Marie Christine. O’Donnell has appeared on Broadway in Man and Boy. His film and TV credits include I Just Want My Pants Back, The Weekend and 80/20.
